There are plenty of other things that you can do and see while studying at USP. Fiji and the Pacific have a lot to offer in terms of the natural environment – landscape, marine life, flora and fauna.
Cinema – Fiji’s capital city Suva is located just outside the university surroundings. The major cinema, Village 6 is located in the CBD. Click here for movies and fun at the cinemas.
Sightseeing – there is always so much to see! But because the most beautiful places are located outside of Suva, make sure that you budget enough for your travelling. A bus from Suva to Nadi is about FJ $15-20 one way. Ferries to Taveuni are FJ $60-60 one way.
Shopping – Suva has four large shopping centers in the centre of the city – MHCC, Prouds, Tappoos and Mid-City. These are ‘mall-like’ structures and have food courts, clothing, kitchen ware, stationeries, salons, and much more! Visit the SCC website for more information on Suva.
Arts and Culture
Walking around the university and the surrounding environment brings you in contact with different faces, smiles and personalities. Given that USP is made up of 12 member countries, there is a rich and vibrant culture within the university. Mixing the cultures guarantees you nothing less than a rich, exciting and enjoyable cultural experience!
When you come to study with us, we will show you how we live our lives – cook our food, dance and live each day. As people of the Pacific, we are glad to share our lifestyle with you and we hope to learn from your time here with us!
