The Fiji currency consists of FJ$100, $50, $20, $10, $5 notes and $2, $1, $0.50, $0.20, $0.10, $0.05 coins.
The general banking hours in Fiji are from 9.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays with some of the major banks open on Saturdays as well. Banks and ATM’s are easily accessible around the main city centers and towns and most credit cards are accepted in Fiji.
Upon arrival, may want to consider opening a local account for your duration of stay in Fiji. Many local banks such as ANZ, Westpac, BSP and Bred Bank offer student account options.
You will find a branch of the Westpac bank on the Laucala campus and another branch located opposite USP’s Laucala campus at the Sports City Complex.
The Damodar City complex has a BSP bank branch that opens on Saturdays (as well) for limited services.
The USP Laucala campus has Westpac and BSP ATM’s on campus while ANZ, and Bank of Baroda ATM’s can be found located near to USP.
