After orientation information session and welcome reception earlier in the week, the new International students were hosted by the Qauia village in Lami.
The bus departed from USP in the morning and upon arrival the students were hosted and briefed about the iTaukei culture, history of Fiji and the village followed by the kava ceremony, traditional breakfast and sigi-drigi (song and dance).
From the village ‘cultural excursion’ the students took the bus to Pacific Harbour where they spent the rest of the day at Uprising resort. A series of team building activities were planned for staff of International office and the new students.
Students enjoyed the day out at the beach with some local lunch and activities.
