Orientation Week Semester One 2017

Orientation takes place a week before semester begins. This year, the formal orientation began with an welcome information session held by the International Office staff. During the welcome session the staff took turns to share important information about the University, academic dates, Immigration, support services, safety and security and the Pacific culture. The sessions were kept interactive with Q&A, ice breakers and energizers along with giveaways for the new students. This was followed by a tour of our green campus led by our student interns. The evening welcome reception was hosted with a cocktail accompanied by traditional performances by Oceania Dance Theatre.
At the end of the week, students (with the International office staff) attend a Village/Beach excursion. International Office staffs take students out to Qawia Village Community for students to witness a traditional kava ceremony. Followed by this is a conclusive trip to the beach.
