USP Open Day took place on 28 July 2017. The International office booth was set up at the lower rara next to the Library. The booth showcased information from the Japan Pacific Alumni Association (JPAA), USP Exchange and Exchange Alumni.
Staff, students and alumni from these programmes were present at the booth to share information with eager students and to answer their questions.
Displays at the booth included photos, souvenirs and crafts from the alumni members. There were also games and quizzes for students to participate in.
JPAA members helped curious students put on kimonos that were on display and they could take photos in these. Additionally, the visiting students heard the experiences from alumni members about their visit to Japan. They engaged in fun Japanese games and learnt some basic Japanese words.
Alumni from the USP Exchange programmes shared their experiences from the various partner universities they have studied in and answered questions from the students. They also had quiz questions for the students and students had an opportunity to win USP merchandise by answering these correctly.
Our sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Japan for their assistance in ensuring the day event was a success.
